At PCIM Europe 2024, Efficient Power Conversion (EPC) exhibited a comprehensive portfolio of GaN-based power-conversion solutions, with a focus on efficiency, reliability, and performance. The company’s gallium-nitride-based products offer advantages for applications such as DC-DC converters for 48-V automotive and demanding computing applications, motor drives, eMobility, robotics, power tools, drones, and renewable energy.
GaN FET-based power-conversion systems offer higher efficiency, increased power density, and lower overall system cost than silicon-based alternatives. These characteristics have spurred the presence of an ever-increasing ecosystem of power electronics components such as gate drivers, controllers, and passive components that specifically enhance eGaN FET performance. In this video, Alex Lidow, CEO and co-founder of the company, talks about a variety of GaN-based motor-control solutions.
