Observations and Takeaways from the 2024 IMS Exhibition

July 23, 2024
Microwaves & RF’s David Maliniak and Electronic Design’s Bill Wong talk about what they experienced at IMS 2024, the largest show for the microwaves tech industry.

This year’s annual IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Symposium (IMS) took place recently at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC. The event gives the wireless community an opportunity to catch up with friends and competitors, and the ability to check out the latest solutions from both small and large RF/microwave companies showcasing their products and services.

In this podcast we talk with our editors Bill Wong, Electronic Design Senior Content Director, and David Maliniak, the Executive Editor of Microwaves & RF. They spent the event walking the floor and visiting the many booths with attention-grabbing displays promoting new levels of RF performance over extended frequency ranges. More companies than ever have begun to offer products in the millimeter-wave (mmWave) frequency range to meet the growing needs of applications such as 5G wireless communications networks and advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS) equipment.
